What we collect

If you join the sale-update list, we collect the email address you provide, the page or brand you followed, and any optional preferences you choose, such as city, category, size, price range and whether you want online sales. We also record the time and source page needed to honor and understand the signup.

How we use it

We use this information to capture your interest, make future sale updates more relevant, operate the service, and measure whether it is useful. Marketing emails must include an unsubscribe option, and you can opt out at any time. We do not sell or give your email address to brands. We may share aggregated demand signals that do not identify an individual shopper.

Storage and service providers

We use service providers for hosting, database storage, analytics and email delivery. They process information for us under their own security and privacy commitments. Access to individual shopper data is limited to operating the service; database credentials remain server-only and the public site cannot read the private demand tables.

Brand requests

If you request an untracked brand, we collect the email, brand, and any optional market, category, store URL, or notes you submit. We use that information to measure demand, prioritize research and outreach, and contact you about a relevant update when one exists. A request is not a confirmed sale or partnership.

Brand applications

If you apply as a brand partner, we collect the business and contact information you submit so we can evaluate and respond to the proposal. We do not present an application as an endorsement or paid editorial verification.

Sale submissions

If you submit a sale tip, we collect your contact details, relationship to the event, the sale information, and the sources you provide. We use it to review the tip independently, request clarification, and decide whether supported facts should be published. Submission does not buy coverage or create a verified listing.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site, particularly “shop on resale” buttons, are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This helps keep the tracker free. We only link to retailers and resale marketplaces we consider relevant.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are useful. For a curated Indie Drop, we may also record a minimal outbound click event—including the drop, campaign, button placement, destination host and time—and add campaign parameters before sending you to the brand's store. Our click ledger does not store your IP address, email, cookie, full destination URL, referrer or user agent, and a click is not described as a unique shopper or purchase. The brand's own privacy policy applies once you leave Sample Sale Tracker.

Retention and your choices

We keep signup preferences and consent records while they are needed to provide updates, honor opt-outs, measure demand and meet legal or operational obligations. We keep event-level measurement data only as long as it remains useful for those purposes, then delete or aggregate it. Any subscriber email we send includes secure links to manage followed signals or unsubscribe. Those links do not contain your email address, and simply opening an unsubscribe page does not change your settings. You can also ask us to correct or delete your information, or opt out of future email, by contacting us below. We may retain the minimum suppression record needed to respect an opt-out.
